Diagnostic Code Definition Corrective Action

Power up default. Make sure that the system is

connected to an electrical outlet,

and then check whether the

power indicator is on or off. If the

power indicator is off, refer to

“Power” in Chapter 4.

If the problem persists, remove

all expansion cards as described

in “Expansion Cards” in

Chapter 6. If the system still

does not start, refer to Chapter 7, 7,

“Getting Help,” for instructions

on obtaining technical

assistance.

System board is receiv-

ing power, but the BIOS

is not executing.xecuting.

Set the configuration jumper to

Maintenance mode (see

Table 2-2), and restart the sys-

tem. Exit and save changes in

the system setup program. Turn

off the computer and reset the

configuration jumper to Normal

mode, and then restart the

system.

Remove all expansion cards and

restart the system to determine

if a resource conflict exists. If a

conflict exists, resolve the con-

flict as described in “Resolving

Software and Hardware Incom-

patibilities” in Chapter 5. If the

problem persists, refer to

Chapter 7, “Getting Help,” for Getting Help,” for

instructions on obtaining techni-

cal assistance.
